WORSHIP VOLUNTEERS

It takes many volunteers for our  services to run smoothly. There are opportunities to acolyte, help serve donuts and beverages at Trinity Café, greet people as they arrive at church, run the soundboard or screens during worship and usher during the services.

Acolytes

CAFE

Live Stream

Acolytes are current confirmation students.  A white robe will be provided for you to wear. An acolyte will light the candles prior to worship services.

At special worship services, you may be asked to lead the processional at the beginning of a worship service.  You will assist the pastor with minor duties during the worship service, such as helping with the distribution of communion.
Serving coffee and donuts attracts members, encourages bonding and stimulates growth.  CAFE volunteers welcome worshippers by serving coffee, orange juice, milk and donuts before and after the 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM worship services.

CAFE volunteers arrive 30-45 minutes prior to a worship service to brew the coffee and set out the donuts, milk and orange juice, which will be at church for you.

You can choose the service times that work best for you.  Based on the amount of volunteers, you are scheduled every other month.
Live streaming church services makes it possible to reach new and distant attendees as well as long-time congregation members who can’t always make it in person.

Livestream(er) will take cues and plan scene changes based on the order of worship.

At this point we only have one person, Patrick Stark, who does all of the services including holiday services and any other time live streaming is needed.  We do not live stream the 6:00 pm service.   Any questions, contact Patrick at starkman42@gmail.com.  Computer and technology skills are helpful.  Training will be available.

Trinity Greeters

Projectionists

Ushers

Trinity greeters are responsible for greeting people as they enter with a friendly hello, smile and a handshake.  But more than that, they are responsible for creating a warm, caring and genuine atmosphere for friendship and fellowship at Trinity Merrill Lutheran Church.  Provide directions and information if asked by a worshiper.  Be on time, arrive 30-45 minutes prior to worship services. Greeting others should never be viewed as an obligation; it is a privilege!
Projectionists help guide the congregation through the worship services.  You operate our computer that displays the lyrics and other slides on the screens for our worship services.

Currently, we only have four people who are trained as a projectionist.  Confirmation students we need you!  Training will be available.
The role of a church usher is to help first time guests, repeat visitors and members experience the sacredness and joy of our worship services.

Ushers welcome worshipers as they enter the sanctuary.  You handout/distribute our worship bulletins.  If someone needs help with seating, you offer to help them.  Ushers assist with collection of offerings and pew dismissal for communion.
