Confirmation

Our confirmation program offers a 3-year educational experience to both our Trinity School and the area's public schools' youth. Confirmation runs throughout the school year, with the church's staff rotating each quarter to teach the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  The program covers the story of the Bible, instruction of Luther's Small Catechism, and practical Apologetics. Public school confirmation takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Trinity School confirmation is integrated into their weekly curriculum.

My Covenant with God and His Church

Confirmation is a public rite of the Church in which a Christian, relying on God’s promises given in Holy Baptism, is given an opportunity to make a personal public “confirmation” or confession of the faith and a lifelong pledge of commitment to Christ (Revelation 2:10). Confirmation, therefore, is preceded by a period of instruction. This instruction is designed to help baptized Christians identify with the life and mission of the Christian community. It is also designed to prepare baptized Christians to receive the Lord’s Supper, for 1 Corinthians 11:28 cites the necessity of being instructed in the Christian faith.

As a Confirmation Student and Parent – My Commitment Will Include:

  1. Faithful Worship Attendance – any exceptions will be explained and excused by my teacher.
  2. Faithful Confirmation Class Attendance
  3. Memory Work – maintain a minimum “B” average (80%) on memory quizzes.
  4. Fulfill all academic requirements.

Participation in the above items is a natural expression of our faith. This is why we challenge you to be present at ALL these events. However, if special circumstances arise that you or your family cannot fulfill your pledge, it will be necessary to visit with pastor.
