Rev. Scott Gustafson, Administrative Pastor
Pastor Scott Gustafson (Pastor G) went to college in pursuit of a business degree. While he was enjoying his volunteer work with the youth of his congregation, a great idea hit him: “Hey,” he thought, “I can get paid for this!” He left school in Tampa to enroll at Concordia University, River Forest, IL where he met Georgia Pagel. During the summer of 1993, Pastor G and Georgia were united in marriage. In the fall of 1996, after seminary graduation and ordination, Pastor G was called to serve as the Associate Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Norwood/Young America. It was in December of 2010, when Pastor G accepted the call to serve as the Administrative Pastor here at Trinity that he moved to Merrill. At the same time, Georgia accepted the call to serve as a teacher at Trinity School.Pastor G and Georgia have five children: David, Caleb, Joshua, Sarah, and Rachel. Since 2005, Pastor G has served as a chaplain in the Army National Guard where he holds the rank of Major. He has multiple deployments, the longest of which was a year in Kosovo in support of KFOR9. His motto is simple: “Two can do anything if one of them is God.” The Bible verse that centers at the heart of all that Pastor G does is recorded in Isaiah 40:1, “Comfort, comfort, my people, says your God.”
